EXPLORE Chiang Mai, Thailand (Old City Tour on a Samlor)
In Chiang Mai, Thailand and across Southeast Asia the 3 wheel pedal-powered rickshaw has always been an important form of transportation. Called Samlor in Chiang Mai, they are a part of this great city's heritage. But this is an industry that is dying. Where there was once hundreds of these on the streets of Chiang Mai, today there is less than 50 left. One man is doing what he can to ensure this legacy lives on. So join me as I take a Samlor tour and learn a lot about the history of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Chiang Mai Home Industries
This is my video of home industries in Chiang Mai.
In chronological order:
1. Silk factory & boutique
2. Lacquer factory & boutique
3. The World's Largest Jewellery Store
4. Bee farm
The jewellery store claims to be the largest in the world but I wasn't allowed to record it. So I only got a shot of the lobby. Most of these industries have ISO 9002 label largely displayed outside. The lacquer boutique also didn't allow video-recording. Finally it's the bee farm where the bees actually get their nectar from a garden of poppies.
